Maybe they will surprise us all with the Xunlai Market update..........

k, maybe not. Won't hurt to keep the players in the loop with what is planned though.

PvP loving? PvP has a constant stream of playability whereas PvE has been reduced to solo farming every week/day. Or are they gonna give PvP more of our vanity items? Let's let PvPers get full Primeval, glowing hands, tormented items, destroyer weapons! All of it, without playing the game, all they have to do is read the skill updates every month and spam their gold animals in every outpost.

Get real, that is such RUBBISH! Years to add a collector and a new gift item? At that rate it would have taken about six centuries to produce prophesies.

It was a very nice update, and generally very well received, though I personally can't see the point in the menagerie given how useless pets are in GW, I was hoping for something in this months failed skill balance. But don't make this out to be anything other than what it was, a modest content update and intended in no small degree to support a new micro-payment model.

As to OP, I hadn't noticed that before on the 3-4 month cycle. Given that GW2 is probably still 1-2 years away I shall look forward to these, however small they may be. However, I would expect that every content update will have a micro purchase option to accompany it.

He got it wrong. Nicolas didn't take years. Probably just a week or so. John Hargrove said that the model had been there since the release of Prophecies. It just wasn't used till now.

I would be happy with another update on par with May's. Though I wonder if we will see something larger due to the last update providing more revenue for Anet.

I've wanted ab ladders for a long time :/... on topic: 3-4 months seems like a long time for a content update ... next time I hope they add new pve areas I'd like a Corsair themed dungeon or new pvp maps.

Keep in mind that there were only three people and a few programmers working on this, since everyone else is full on developing Guild Wars 2. I'd bet that the tri-monthly content updates will all be roughly the scale of the 4th anniversary one. By that, I mean in amount of work. How that translates to content is anyone's guess. Still, It's better than nothing.

Depends. When did they first tell us about their preliminary plans for this past update?

I like how this person refers to everything as "our"s and "their"s. GW: PvP vs PvE - Come Get Some! Although, that wouldn't be very much of a fair fight. Would certainly be amusing as hell though.

Agreed, lol, but that probably depends on the battleground and rules of engagement as well though.

If PvE can use those PvE-only skills in this 'fight'... mmm, may not be such a one-sided affair then

You may want to check out the dates on the above thread. This is when ANET announced the April Updates (my original link) Katsumi Posted it to this forum back on 15 Jan 2009 if you do not want to click on the link. So I think that asking about the next announcement is not too early based on the previous announcement.
Post no. 18 in this very thread.

Noticed the same. And people wonder why there's a rift between PvP and PvE :rollseyes

Anyway, I'd like some update on the larger scope of the new update. Will it be PvP, PvE, expansion of already existing content, buyable content?
